In Denmark, nearly 200 listeria infections were reported over a three-year period, and only four out of 10 outbreaks were resolved.

According to data from the Statens Serum Institut, there were 199 cases of invasive infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes between 2023 and 2025. There was an average of 66 cases per year (ranging from 54 to 84), which corresponds to an annual incidence of 1.1 cases per 100,000 Danish residents.
