These days, it seems like every store offers in-store or curbside pickup. But Hobby Lobby is still an outlier. Beginning in late 2023, we will no longer offer in-store or curbside pickup. Currently, your options are to shop in-store or shop online and have the items shipped to you. In fact, as Hobby Lobby states on its site, “Everything you order online is shipped directly to you.”
What better use of your time than perusing the aisles of Hobby Lobby to admire the beautiful wall mirrors, candles, pillows, storage boxes, clocks, cute and whimsical wall decor, art, and more. I love getting new ideas for my home, and “Always be yourself.” Unless you can become a mermaid. Then try becoming a mermaid.” Hobby Lobby is like catnip. I can't get enough.
But sometimes I know exactly what I want or need. And often I need that now. Or at least within the next 2-3 hours. In these situations, it may be safer to buy only what you need online rather than staying in the store (to avoid impulse purchases) and then choose Hobby Lobby in-store pickup or Hobby Lobby curbside pickup when you order. But something happened when I tried to do this on the Hobby Lobby website.
Shop online at Hobby Lobby
I ran into a conundrum when trying to select Hobby Lobby curbside pickup while shopping online at Hobby Lobby. I can't find a “How to Buy” option when adding an item to my online shopping cart. I continued through the checkout process thinking it would show up or at least give me the Hobby Lobby in-store pickup option. However, the Hobby Lobby cart added an estimated shipping fee and carrier surcharge at the beginning of the purchase, leaving me with no option other than to have the item shipped.

For example, when shopping at Michaels, you are given the option to select a “how to purchase” before placing an item in your cart. Since I was familiar with this formula, I spent quite a bit of time searching the Hobby Lobby site for a feature like the one below.

At this point I needed to answer the following questions: Does Hobby Lobby have in-store pickup service? sadly, no.
I found the answer on the Hobby Lobby FAQ page and called random stores to find out the following:

What is Hobby Lobby's shipping policy?
Since Hobby Lobby curbside pickup or in-store pickup is not available, and the only way to receive items purchased from the Hobby Lobby website is to have them delivered, I had to determine whether it made sense to pick them up in person. Item shipped. How much does it cost and how long does it take to receive my order? Answers to these questions can be found on the Hobby Lobby Shipping and Returns page. Please allow 3 business days to process your online order and may add 7 business days for delivery. Hobby Lobby also says that shipping may take longer during peak periods (think holidays).
