Martin Couvra continued to start an impressive departure at the DP World Tour Career with an amazing final round comeback to claim a breakthrough title at the Turkish Airlines Open.
The French reversed the four -time deficit on a thrilling Sunday at Reginum Carya.
COUVRA is 17th in total, mixed with 9 birdies on the last day with two Boges, and two strokes are better than the nearest challenger Haotong Li and Jorge Campillo. Brandon Robinson Thompson in the UK has been two rounds in fourth place.
The victory graduated from Hotelplanner Tour last year and extended the strong season of Couvra, who had already ranked fourth in the campaign.
Couvra is amazing to win the first year on the DP World Tour.
“Of course, it was really hard to keep calm and good to finish this round, but today I was really satisfied with all discussions with the caddy. I’m really amazing. I think it will be fun with French players tonight!”
Couvra, a middle leader, has slipped down the leader board since the third round 72, but competed with four birdies with four birdies in six halls on Sunday.
The French could not go up and down to save the hand in the next green, but in the next three holes, six feet of Buddy with the Buddy, 15th Buddy, expanded his obvious advantage.
COUVRA was enough to set up a clubhouse goal that could not match, and Campillo’s five birdies drilled eight holes enough to be able to win the final round 67 and second place on the 8th.
Robinson Thompson ranked fourth after managing Birdie in the final 72, and JOOST LUITEN and Matthew Southgate ranked fifth, and the UK’s Chris Wood ranked 10th in the first DP World Tour since 2018.
Wood said, “It was terrible to be honest.” Since 2019, I really feel like I’m experiencing hell. So it’s definitely great to collect scores today.
“I want to feel as if my game is there. I don’t score in a day, but I really feel as if I started doing so. I worked hard at home, worked quietly with a great team, and it was an honest long and old way.
“I haven’t lost my faith in myself -you have a day when you have more difficult than anyone. The fire of the ship was always there. I rely on this year. I’m so well practiced at home. The phone will be a problem at the last minute.”
