If pancreatic cancer is detected early, more treatment options are available.
Early diagnosis can be difficult because symptoms may not be specific to pancreatic cancer.
Watch out for the following non-specific symptoms:

Back or stomach pain
Tumors may press on nearby organs or nerves, causing back or stomach pain.
Slide 4:
jaundice
Signs of jaundice include:
- yellowing of the eyes or skin
- dark colored urine
- brightly colored or greasy poop
- itchy skin
Slide 5:
digestive problems
A tumor may partially block the stomach, causing:
- sickness
- puke
- pain after eating
- diarrhea
- constipation
- sifter
- bloating
Slide 6:
unexplained weight loss
Lose weight with little or no interest in eating or with little effort.
Slide 7:
sudden onset diabetes
Pancreatic cancer destroys the cells that make insulin and can cause diabetes.
Signs of diabetes include:
- Feeling thirstier or hungrier than usual
- need to urinate frequently
- changes in blood sugar levels
Slide 8:
blood clot
A clot of blood trapped in a large vein (usually the leg). Symptoms of the affected area may include:
- pain
- edema
- erythema
- warmth
Slide 9:
Pancreatic cancer is not the most common cause of these symptoms. However, if you are experiencing any of these problems, contact your health care provider about your concerns.
