- minced meat: Substitute ground chicken, ground pork, or ground beef instead of ground turkey!
- Coleslaw Mix: It’s easy to use a pre-made mix, but you can also use shredded cabbage and matchstick carrots if you prefer.
- vegetable: Chopped mushrooms keep the turkey juicy and add flavor, and can be paired with bell peppers, peas, or bok choy to add more color and nutrition. Use whatever you like.
- Protein Exchange: Use ground turkey, chicken, or pork. It all works fine. For a vegan version, skip the meat and add more vegetables.
- Looking for a little heat? Add sriracha or red pepper flakes.

When I’m too tired to make anything, I choose this. It’s a quick, easy, filling and healthy option! My kids love it and we make leftovers for lunch all week long.
- Cooking with onions and garlic: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent. Add minced garlic and fresh grated ginger and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Cook Ground Türkiye: Add ground turkey and cook until browned, 7 to 8 minutes.
- Add cabbage salad: Add coleslaw mix and stir until coleslaw is smooth.
- Add soy sauce& salt & pepper: Add soy sauce and hoisin sauce and mix. Season to taste with salt and pepper and garnish with green onions.

Place the egg rolls on top of the rice: If you want to make this meal more filling and a bit more distant, serve it over rice. My kids love eating it on top of rice!
