El Al waives change and cancellation fees: Travel Weekly

El Al is waiving change and cancellation fees as fighting with Hezbollah intensifies and fighting with Iran is expected to further intensify.

El Al customers who purchased a ticket on October 1 for a flight scheduled to depart on October 19 can cancel their ticket without a fee and receive a voucher good for use until December 31.

Additionally, the airline has waived change fees if the rescheduled flight travels to the original destination in the same class of service. However, fare differences apply.

El Al generally charges change and cancellation fees to classic economy ticket holders, with the fee amount varying depending on the ticket.

Flights to and from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport were suspended on Tuesday as Iran launched ballistic missiles towards Israel, but flights have since resumed.

El Al is currently the only airline operating between the United States and Israel.
