
X has increased the price of its top subscription service by 37.5%, marking the biggest price increase since Elon Musk acquired the platform in 2022.
Premium+ service costs $22 per month in the U.S., up from $16 starting Dec. 21, according to a company statement. Annual subscription fee increased from $168 to $229.
X said it was “adjusting” its prices to support the experiences it offers. Existing subscribers will remain at the current rate until January 20th.
International markets are facing a similar uptick, with EU prices rising from €16 to €21 per month. In Canada, Premium+ rates will increase from $20 to $29.
Some markets are more affected than most. The cost of X Premium+, which completely removes ads among other features, increases from ₦7,300 to ₦34,000 per month for Nigerian users. Likewise, Turkish users will have to pay ₺770 for the top-tier X service, up from ₺300 currently.
The platform’s basic subscription fee remains unchanged at $3 per month.
