The Three Lions came from behind once again to beat the Netherlands 2-1 in Dortmund. Harry Kane's penalty cancelled out Xavi Simons' excellent first-half goal, but Ollie Watkins' late strike sent England into another European Championship final.

Another last-minute goal showed once again that England have depth and character. Sky Sports Expert Keane says Gareth Southgate's side are on track for Sunday's final in Berlin.

“I have Spain as my favourite team, but sometimes the fate of this England team is unpredictable,” he said. ITV Sport.

Ollie Watkins has claimed friends and family told him he would make a difference for England by scoring against the Netherlands.

“It's good to see players coming off the bench with the right mindset. They want to go out there and make an impact.

“They came out and scored late and it's going to be a great game against Spain. The impact of players coming off the bench has been huge for a lot of teams in this tournament.”

Keane on England penalty: It wasn't a penalty for me

Roy Keane on Sky Sports on ITV Sport:
“It wasn't a penalty in my eyes, but you need a bit of luck in this game.

“I've always liked the physicality of football and the split decisions inside the box, even if it's a free kick somewhere else on the pitch. That's not the case for me.”

The Euro 2024 final will be the first time a men's team will play a major tournament final on foreign soil, and pundit Gary Neville agrees the odds could tip the scales in England's favour.

“It's an incredible achievement. To be in the final again is an incredible achievement. Go and finish it. How many times have England been in this position? I've never been in it,” he added. ITV Sport.

“A lot of people didn't like Spain. I didn't. But they were the best team and they played the best football. So we've cut things short but something seems to be happening. The odds are stacked in England's favour and that's a confidence booster.

England fans across the country were thrilled as Gareth Southgate's men reached the European Championship final.

“But it's clear that Spain is a much better team than us in this tournament.

“It's amazing. The players and the coach didn't play their best in this competition, but they stayed in the game and crossed the finish line. Over the years they've been called naive, they've played well and lost, but this team does everything. And they're getting better.

“The way they've done it is absolutely incredible, it's something that English teams haven't been able to do in the past.”
