Türkiye’s RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN condemned the opposition for stimulating “movement of violence” as the protests of this country continued on the night of the 6th.
Anxiety began in Istanbul last Wednesday, and Erkrem IMAMOGLU, a major political rival in Erdoan, was detained for corruption.
Imamoglu said that allegations of him were politically motivated, Erdogan’s claim.
The Republican People’s Party (CHP), a major opposition party in Turkey, announced on Sunday that it would end that this demonstration would end without telling what the next step is on Tuesday.
Erdogan marked “evil” in the protests and criticized the opposition to “interfering with the peace of citizens by provocation.”
In the Turkish capital Ankara, Erdogan ended the protest and said, “Instead of responding to the charges, the opposition said,” The opposition party has made the most evil and illegal statement in the last five days of political history. “
On Monday, the car carrying a water cannon looked close to the city hall, but the protests Fierce conflict I saw it on Sunday.
Lydia, one of the protesters, added that Turkish authorities are “hunting us like pests.”
Young people who might have not known the government other than one of Erdogan played an important role in the protests.
They have different political views, but they do not seem to be related to certain political movements in protests. They are all opposed to the government, but they are not hesitant to criticize CHP.
When she asked if she was afraid of the potential influence of the demonstration, a woman told the BBC:
A 25 -year -old woman who attended a Sunday protest said she was afraid of her before. “But now I’m angry.”
The Turkish government said 1,133 people were arrested after the protests began in the figures announced before the Monday evening meeting.
I’m not sure if CHP ends the rally in Istanbul.
Ozgur Ozel, leader of CHP, talked with thousands of people gathered on Monday night and told the crowd the protests “a challenge to fascism.”
Ozel said he will visit Imamo Glue in Jail on Tuesday. He added that he would release the trial that CHP is pending and appeal to his trial so that it is live live in the main broadcaster TRT.
IMAMOGLU was confirmed as CHP’s 2028 presidential candidate on Monday. When he was the only person he was running, the starting vote was symbolic.
He was officially arrested and spent the night before he was accused of “establishing a criminal organization, bribery, robbery, illegally recording personal data and manipulating bidding.” He was also suspended in his position as a mayor.
The prosecution also prosecuted him on charges of “assisting armed terrorist organizations,” but it was not included in the prosecution.
Istanbul University said he is canceling the degree of Imamo Glue before being detained. In accordance with the Turkish Constitution, the president will have to complete higher education, so he will question the president.
IMAMOGLU criticized the arrest as “a black spot on our democracy” in a weekend article, “I will never bow down.”
His wife, Dilek Kaya Imamoglu, told the protesters outside Istanbul City Hall, “Innation,” the husband faced “fire” “chords with all conscience.”
Most of the anger of protesters is to Erdogan and his government.
IRMAK, a 22 -year -old college student, told the BBC World Service at the Sarachane region in Istanbul at the BBC World Service, “I don’t know what he did 20 years ago, but I’m just a dictator today.”
IRMAK and her friends, OZGE and ELIF both shared their position on the phone, afraid of being detained by the police.
The protests have been the largest demonstrations in Türkiye since the 2013 GEZI demonstrations, and began with the demolition of local parks in Istanbul.
They were very peaceful, but on Sunday, police officers fired a water cannon and used pepper sprays as a collision unfolded.
“We are the fruit of the tree of Gezis,” Irmak said. “We are here to protect democracy. It is not about Ekrem Imamo Glue. It is about Turkish democracy.”
IMAMOGLU is one of more than 100 people detained as part of last week’s survey. Others arrested include politicians, journalists and businessmen.
Among the protesters, Mustafa told the BBC World Service, “We are not accepting this injustice.” “We want democracy and I want to regain my friends because IMOMOGLU is not the only person behind the bar.”
“We want to rebuild democracy in this country and want to save the Republic in this authoritarian populist regime. We want to regain the market in the short term. We want to regain our friends.”
The arrest of Imamo Glue does not prevent candidates or elections as a president, but it will not run away if he is convicted of it.
The opposition mayor is considered one of the most powerful Erdogan competitors in Türkiye for 22 years as a prime minister and president.
Erdogan’s term of office will expire in 2028, and according to the current rules, he could not be rebuilt, but he was able to change the constitution so that he could call early elections or change the constitution to maintain longer power.
The Turkish Justice Department criticized those who connected ERDOGAN to arrest and insisted on judicial independence.
