Eric Ramsey sacked: West Brom part company with manager after eight league games without a win | soccer news

West Brom have sacked Eric Ramsey as manager 44 days after being appointed manager.

Ramsay, who was appointed to replace Ryan Mason in January, stepped down as manager of MLS side Minnesota United but struggled during his time at The Hawthorns, failing to win any of the eight league games he was in charge of.

The 34-year-old is 4-4 in championship play in a short span of time.

His Baggies team were also knocked out of the FA Cup after losing to Norwich.

Ramsay’s last press conference: There’s no lack of connection between me and the team

Eric Ramsey After West Brom drew 1-1 with Charlton, he said:

“We are not talking about this performance in isolation, we are adding this to several draws and there is a feeling that the wins are not enough and we are taking a step back by not getting over the line.

“I know what I need in this situation. I need a win, not a draw.

“We had many chances to win, but our performance was lacking.

“We lack real spark and quality in front of goal.

“I can’t sit here and watch the team lose five games and not be competitive.

“In the last four league games the team has been competitive, fighting and I don’t think there is a lack of connection between me and the team.”
