Between hostile public opinion toward the Trump administration and the need to maintain Washington’s economic and defense capabilities as much as possible, many NATO (and EU) countries in Europe, including France and the United Kingdom, are working with other countries to prepare an international maritime patrol and minesweeping capability for the Strait of Hormuz after hostilities end. Above all, I hope this will appease President Trump to some degree.
