Denmark's Mickey Krause won his first major title at the European Pool Open in Fulda, Germany, on Sunday.

Not only has Krause claimed his first Matchroom major title, he has also qualified for the inaugural Race Cup later this year.

Chua, who beat Shane Van Boning in the semifinals, won the first rack, but Danish star Krause fought back by winning three consecutive racks, most notably a deft long bank shot on the 6-ball on the fifth hole to take a 4-1 lead.

After Kraus' dry break, Chua tried to close the gap but failed after missing five crucial balls, giving the Dane another rack to go ahead 8-2 and soon extended the lead to 10-3.

Chua's bad luck continued, as he started with a dry rack in the 16th, allowing Krause to reach the mound.

After Krauss scratched again, Chua put in a valiant effort with a three-rack run to cut the score to 12-8.

But his fate was ultimately sealed when Chua missed eight balls, and Krause, who had earlier knocked out American Skylar Woodward, stood on the ledge to celebrate after taking the European crown.

The crowd was stunned when Joshua Filler missed a routine nine-ball to take the lead against Mustafa Alnar at the European Open Championship.
