Walmart launched Walmart+ in 2020 to make shipping more convenient and affordable for busy families. At the time, it was a new type of membership program that saved customers time and money by combining in-store and online benefits.

Since then, Walmart+ has evolved to include more benefits beyond free grocery delivery, and is now one of the few strong shopping membership programs that gives Amazon Prime a run for its money.

Here’s how the program works, all the benefits it offers, and most importantly, how to join.

How to Buy Walmart+

It’s easy. You can sign up here. If you already have a regular Walmart account, you can add a Walmart+ membership. Sometimes Walmart offers discounts on Walmart+ memberships. I recently discovered a Walmart+ 50% off for a year. Check out our current offers here.

How much is a Walmart+ membership in 2025?

If you choose the Walmart Plus annual plan, it will cost you $98 per year. If you choose the Walmart+ monthly plan, it costs $12.95 per month (up to $155.40 per year). You can currently try it free for 30 days. Which membership plan you choose will depend on your needs. If you take advantage of the benefits regularly, a one-year membership can save you a lot of money on membership costs. Walmart grocery delivery typically costs up to $9.95 per delivery, so if you order more than 10 times a year, free delivery could cover the cost of your membership. On the other hand, if you want to take advantage of exclusive Walmart+ sales, consider purchasing a monthly membership and only keeping it for as long as you need.

Walmart+ Benefits in 2025

Walmart’s membership service comes with a variety of benefits, including free grocery delivery from the store, discounts on fuel, and access to tools that make shopping faster and more convenient. Let us break it down for you.

Free unlimited shipping from your store

Need to buy groceries but don’t have time to go to the store? It seems really familiar. Get free, same-day delivery on fresh groceries, last-minute gifts and up to 180,000 other items from the store at the low prices you know and love with a Walmart+ membership. Please make sure you meet the minimum order of $35 and note that some restrictions apply. Non-members pay between $7.95 and $9.95 for same-day grocery delivery. Need something very quickly? Walmart offers you the option to pay an extra $10 for express delivery within one hour. Non-Walmart+ members will have to pay extra on top of the regular shipping fee (which means a shipping fee of about $20). However, Walmart+ members can take advantage of $10 Express Shipping and waive the initial $9.95 fee.

Free shipping with no minimum order

In addition to finding great deals, free shipping will have you adding them to your cart faster than you can say “BOPIS.” With your Walmart+ membership, you can receive free next-day and two-day shipping on items purchased on Walmart.com, with no minimum order amount. Non-members must spend at least $35 to unlock free shipping. From pet food to summer camping gear, kitchen appliances and holiday gifts, you can get items delivered for free as often as you need. That’s music to our ears.

Exclusive and early access to Walmart’s biggest sellers

We know how quickly the best deals and hottest products can sell out during major sales periods. That’s why Walmart is giving Walmart+ members early, exclusive access to the biggest sales event of the year. For example, in its most recent Black Friday sale, Walmart revealed deals five hours early to Walmart+ members. Meanwhile, the June 2024 Walmart+ Week sale is only available to Walmart+ members.

Walmart+ gas discount

Walmart+ members receive a 10-cent discount per gallon (5-cent discount in some states) at over 13,000 Exxon and Mobil gas stations, as well as Walmart and Murphy gas stations. And you can take advantage of member prices at Sam’s Club gas stations. This discount will come in handy on your next trip!

Exclusive Access to Walmart Cash

Walmart’s rewards program is now called Walmart Cash and is only available to Walmart+ members. This program awards reward points when you purchase certain items. You can use the rewards you earn for discounts on future purchases. Learn more about the Walmart Rewards program.

Walmart+ Paramount+ Offer: Free Streaming

Get Paramount+ at no additional cost. With a Walmart+ membership, you can watch blockbusters, family favorites, hit dramas, and live sports. Included Subscribe to Paramount+ Essential Plan. If you already have Paramount+ and are purchasing Walmart+, you will need to cancel your current Paramount+ subscription and then sign up again through your Walmart+ account.

Mobile Scan & Go

Here’s one of our favorite Walmart+ benefits. Members shopping in-store can scan and pay for items as they shop for a quick, easy, touch-free payment experience. Simply open the Walmart app and select the Mobile Scan & Go option under ‘Services.’ Scan the barcode on each item, add it to your cart, and pay digitally! Yes, that means no checkout lines (as we all know, the lines can be pretty long at Walmart). Scan, pay and go!

Walmart+ members also have access to all of Walmart’s existing services, including free curbside pickup, NextDay delivery, and two-day delivery.

Walmart+ Travel

Walmart has partnered with Expedia to offer additional benefits to Walmart+ members. When you become a Walmart+ member, Walmart Cash is automatically credited to your account for eligible Walmart+ Travel purchases. You can earn 2% cash back on all air travel and 5% cash back on other travel such as vacation rentals and attractions.

Current promotions: From now until January 26th, you can get an extra $100 in Walmart Cash when you book a stay, package, or rental car through Walmart+ Travel.

Walmart + Burger King specials

Walmart has partnered with Burger King to offer additional benefits to Walmart+ members. Get 25% off your Burger King digital order every day. In addition to the discount, you can also get a free Whopper with your purchase every three months.

Free Online Pet Care

Walmart+ members have access to veterinary experts 24/7 through the Pawp app.

How to cancel Walmart+

How to cancel your Walmart+ subscription depends on the plan you have.

• Walmart+ monthly plan: Cancel before your next billing cycle. You can use your benefits until the end of your current billing cycle.
• Walmart+ Annual Plan: Cancel before you are billed for the following year. You will not receive a prorated refund for any “unused” time at the time of cancellation, but you will retain your benefits until your next billing date.

You can cancel your account by logging in to your Walmart+ account and going to your account page, or by contacting Walmart Customer Care.
