The town of Lamerd in southern Iran was attacked on February 28. CCTV footage released by Iranian state media, authenticated and geolocated by BBC Verification, showed ammunition moments before exploding above a residential area. Experts determined that the missile was likely a U.S. missile based on its appearance, explosion size, and distance from potential U.S. launch sites in the Middle East.
