FDA warns airline catering, Florida bakery after listeria and allergen violations

Posted Date:

As part of its enforcement efforts, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sends warning letters to agencies under its jurisdiction. Some letters are not posted publicly until weeks or months after they are sent. Employers must respond to an FDA warning letter within 15 days. Warning letters are often not issued until the company has had months or years to resolve the problem. Typically, parts of the letter are redacted so that they cannot be viewed by the public.

The FDA issued warning letters to an international airline catering company and a Florida bakery after an investigation found serious food safety violations, including repeated listeria contamination, failure to label allergens, unsanitary equipment and poor employee hygiene.
