materials needed
Everything you need to make this easy phyllo fruit tart recipe is here. See recipe card below for exact measurements.

- Melted butter and oil: Apply to phyllo dough to add moisture and prevent cracking.
- phyllo dough It is a thin pastry with almost no fat, made with water and flour as the main ingredients. Sometimes spelled “filo”, which means “leaf” in Greek.
- Low-fat cream cheese: Let it sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to make it easier to whip.
- icing sugar Sweeten the frosting.
- Whipped Cream Topping: You can use my homemade yogurt whipped cream, Cool Whip, or TruWhip, which is low in calories and HFCS-free.
- fruit: Fresh or canned mandarin oranges (drain first), peeled and sliced kiwi, sliced strawberries.
- White Baking Chocolate: Melt it and sprinkle it on top. You can also use white chocolate chips.
How to Make Filo Fruit Tart
Make sure the phyllo crust is completely cool before adding the other components. Otherwise it may get soggy! See recipe card below for printable instructions.

- Butter the filo: Melt the butter and mix with the oil. Apply to each piece of dough.
- Bake the phyllo Bake at 400°F for 5 to 7 minutes. Cool down.
- To make the cream cheese frosting: Whip cream cheese at room temperature using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Once smooth, add the sugar and gently fold in the whipped topping. Spread over the phyllo dough.
- Assemble the tart: Place the sliced fruit on top of the crust and drizzle with melted white chocolate.

strain
- Phyllo dough tips: To grease the phyllo faster, use butter spray instead of brushing. I use this with ghee and oil. Work quickly to avoid drying out the phyllo.
- Crust Options: Try this fruit pizza recipe with a sugar cookie crust.
- Citrus fruits: I swapped canned mandarins for fresh mandarins or tangerine slices.
- fruit: Any type of fruit goes well with this phyllo dough tart. Try it with mixed berries, peaches, mango, figs or pineapple.
- Make it lighter: Omit the cream cheese and powdered sugar and use whipped cream as the icing. For a homemade option, try topping it with yogurt whipped cream or whipped coconut cream.
- chocolate: Replace white chocolate with semisweet or dark chocolate.
- To make mini filo fruit tarts: Cut the unbaked phyllo into squares and press into a greased muffin tin.
save
- Prepare in advance: If you are serving this filo tart dessert at a party, you can bake the filo and make the frosting the day before. Wait until you assemble the tarts on the day of the event.
