Finding the Perfect Fit: Christian Louboutin Size Guide

When it comes to Christian Louboutin shoes, the allure of a red lacquer sole is undeniable. The look of these coveted shoes can radiate both subtle elegance and bold femininity, but any designer shoe veteran will tell you that sometimes getting the perfect size for a pair of red soles can be a little out of style. So whether you’re new to the Louboutin business or have decided to expand your current red sole collection, we’ve put together a short and concise Christian Louboutin size guide that walks you through some popular styles to help you find the perfect fit!

Before we jump in, there are a few things to consider when discussing Louboutin sizing. First, there’s only one surefire way to get the perfect red bottom match: Try it on yourself. Christian Louboutin shoes are handcrafted from start to finish. While each style is made to the same sketch and measurements, no two shoes are exactly the same, making them exquisitely unique and very subjective in terms of sizing. The second thing to consider before investing in a pair of red bottom shoes is the natural shape of your foot. Although there are exceptions, Louboutins are made using Italian sizing, so most styles have a narrow style fit that can be a little tricky for those with wide feet.

So Kate Pumps

A post shared by Christian Louboutin Addicted (@louboutin.reetzy) on Feb 23, 2018

One of the brand’s most classic styles, the So Kate offers a classic stiletto pump look with a pointed toe and steeper arch than the similar Pigalle style. Because So-Kates boast a very tight and symmetrical silhouette, this style is considered one of the narrowest fitting styles and is often reviewed as running considerably smaller than expected. To save yourself the hassle, we recommend rounding up a full size, depending on the width and curvature of your foot. If you need to round up a bit more than expected and your new red sole still isn’t quite right, Louboutin connoisseurs often advise investing in a heel cushion to minimize the space between your foot and the heel of the shoe.

Lady Peep Pumps

Considered a more relaxed style, the Louboutin Lady Peep pumps feature a thicker platform that offers some support for those with smaller arches. In terms of sizing, the peep-toe silhouette is true to size more than the closed-toe style, but only if you have a naturally narrow foot. For these platform red-bottomed pumps, we generally recommend sizing up by at least half a size.

daffodil pump

A style somewhat similar to the Lady Pip, the Daffodil pump is a great way to gain that extra height with added support. The high heel is offset by a thick hidden platform, giving you the impression of being 4 inches taller without having to lean forward. Because it’s a bit narrow and has a closed toe style, these shoes can feel a little tight, so we recommend sizing up a half size for these gorgeous pumps.

No Prive & Newberry Prive

From No Prive to Very Prive and now New Very Prive, elegant arches, small platforms, and tiny peep-toes that show off your pedicure, Prive pumps have been updated over the years. From slingbacks to closed heels, these shoes can be a little generous when it comes to sizing. Depending on your foot, these shoes may fit true to size or you may need to size up due to the narrow construction.

Twistissima pump

For red soles made of non-leather materials, such as Twistissima mesh and sequin pumps, we generally recommend sizing up a half size, as these materials can stretch as much as leather over time and may not fit as snugly.

So before you buy a nice pair of pumps, keep in mind your foot width, toe length and width, shoe type, material, and even your personal preference for fit. All of these are factors to consider. Also, over time, shoes can stretch out when worn or can be stretched to a more comfortable fit using a variety of methods.
