Floods devastate parts of Romania and Czech Republic

Storm Boris has caused flash flooding across parts of central and eastern Europe and killed four people in Romania.

Evacuations were carried out in hard-hit Galati County, where thousands of homes were damaged.

In the Czech Republic, firefighters are building defenses along rivers in preparation for further flooding in several cities.

“We must prepare for the worst-case scenario,” Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said after a meeting with emergency response teams earlier this week.
