Four Seasons Hotel Opens in Osaka Skyscraper: Travel Weekly

Four Seasons Hotel Osaka has opened in part of the One Dojima high-rise building in Osaka's Dojima area.

On the 28th floor is the hotel’s Gensui floor, which offers what the Four Seasons describes as a “modern ryokan” experience. Gensui accommodations feature elements such as tatami floor mats, sliding doors, low seating, and futon-style bed platforms.

Guests staying on the Gensui floor are greeted by specially trained staff and asked to remove their shoes. Guests have access to the Sabo tea lounge on the floor, which serves bento-style breakfasts, tea ceremonies, and evening sake and wine.

In addition to the Gensui guest rooms and suites, the hotel has 154 hotel rooms located on floors 29 through 35, including spacious suites such as the 1,367-square-foot Grand Osaka Suite and the 2,820-square-foot Presidential Suite.

The hotel’s culinary offerings include Cantonese restaurant Jiang Nan Chun, all-day international cuisine at Jardin, and Bar Bota. At street level is Farine bakery and Cha, a guest-only venue serving a selection of Japanese teas. An 18-seat sushi restaurant with a private dining room is scheduled to open later this year.

The hotel's 36th floor features a wellness facility with a spa with five treatment rooms, a Japanese bath, a sauna, an indoor pool and a fitness centre.

For meetings and events, the hotel offers a 2,400-square-foot grand ballroom and a separate garden terrace. The 37th-floor Sky Salon with an open kitchen and bar is also available for smaller gatherings.

Four Seasons Osaka is the fourth luxury brand hotel to open in Japan, following Four Seasons Kyoto, Four Seasons Tokyo Marunouchi and Four Seasons Tokyo Otemachi.
