France will officially recognize Palestinian countries in September, President Emmanuel Macron said.
Macron said in a post about X that the official announcement would take place in the UN General Assembly session in New York.
“Today’s urgent need is for civilians to be rescued after the war in Gaza. Peace is possible. We need large -scale humanitarian help for immediate ceasefire, release of all hostages and gazes.”
Palestinian officials welcomed Macron’s decision, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on October 7, 2023, “compensated for terrorism.”
Macron wrote in the Thursday post on X: “Faithful to the historical dedication to the legitimate and continuous peace of the Middle East, I decided that France would recognize the state of Palestine.
“We also need to ensure Hamas’s dilatoration and safely and rebuild.
“Finally, we need to build a Palestinian state, ensure survival, accept the demilitarization and fully recognize Israel to contribute to all the security in the Middle East. There is no alternative.”
Macron also attached a letter to President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestinian authorities.
According to AFP, Abbas deputy director Hussein Al-Sheikh responded to Macron’s announcement, “This position reflects the promise of French international law, the right to Palestinians’ self-determination and the support of the independent state.”
Meanwhile, Netana Hu wrote in the mail for X:
“Under this condition, the Palestinian state will be a launcher that wipes Israel. Do not live peacefully next to it. Clearly: Palestinians do not look for the state with Israel and find the state instead of Israel.”
Hamas said that France’s decision is “a positive stage in the right direction,” and all countries in the world urged them to follow the lead of France.
Currently, Palestinians are recognized by more than 140 of the 193 members of the United Nations.
One of them, including Spain and Ireland, is one of them.
But allies, including the major supporters of Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom, did not recognize the Palestinian countries.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a Thursday statement that he will hold an “emergency call” with France and German leaders on Friday.
Starmer added that StateHood is “impossible right for the Palestinians.” He added, “We will lead us to the recognition of the Palestinian countries and the two -country solution.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Saudi Arabia praised France’s decision, saying, “We reaffirm the international agreement on the decision of the Palestinians and the international community’s consensus on the establishment of an independent state.”
The Israeli army started the campaign in Gaza, responding to an attack on southern Israel, and about 1,200 deaths and 251 hostages.
According to the territory, at least 59,106 people have died in Gaza.
Most of GAZA has been reduced to debris since then.
Early Thursday, the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) said that one of the five children in Gaza City was currently in malnutrition and is increasing every day.
More than 100 international aid organizations and human rights groups warned of the mass starvation of the Gaza district.
Israel, who controls the entry of all supplies in Palestinian territory, repeatedly said that there is no siege that blames Hamas in the case of malnutrition.
