
The black outerwear was designed by Kevin Germanier, known for his sustainable approach to fashion, while the gold dress was custom-made by Nike.
“Sometimes people say athletes are in some field, like show business or entertainers,” Osaka said.
“For me, Grand Slams are the only time I feel like a celebrity.”
At the Australian Open in January, Osaka made a statement wearing a jellyfish-inspired outfit in tribute to her two-year-old daughter, Shai.
Former England number one Annabel Croft said many players “won’t live up to expectations” when they step out in bespoke outfits like Osaka’s.
“When you go out there in special clothes, you have to live up to that and have the confidence to play in those clothes and provide tennis and costumes to the crowd,” she told BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra.
“Naomi can handle it. She really likes it and isn’t embarrassed about it.”
After giving birth to her daughter in 2023, Osaka re-emerged into the top 20 in the world rankings and advanced to the semifinals at the US Open last September.
The former world number one will face Croatia’s Dona Vekic in the next round.
