Milo’s Tea Company, famous for hamburgers, is named as a sweet car and lemonade brand that grows rapidly for more than $ 1 billion by 2027.
Over the past decade, sales of family -owned businesses have surged from $ 6.5 million in 2014 to $ 770 million year -on -year.
According to the company’s nielsen data, Milo’s famous Sweet Tea, sold at over 55,000 retail stores, is the most sold liquid car in the United States based on the current sale. It also sells the fastest growing lemonade in the United States.
“I call us a great American growth story,” said Milo’s CEO of Milo.
The company traces the roots until 1946, headquartered southwest of Alabama, Burmingham. After serving as a military chef in World War II, it was founded as a hamburger of Milo Carlton and his wife BEA.
As the hamburger chain expanded, the company often found that people visited a sweet tea. By the late 1980s, MILO eventually began to pack the beverage of the gallon kettle, commonly used in milk.

The restaurant was sold in 2002 and is currently irrelevant to the car business.
Nearly 80 years later, the recipe of the car was maintained the same with only three ingredients: tea, water and sugar. Wallwork, the founder of the company, became CEO in 2012 and pushed the brand further by supervising its entry into a new area.
For 70 years, MILO ‘S has focused on a prosperous car business. By 2014, the lemonade was added to the mix, and the drink was sold at a shop next to the sweet car within the Milo ‘S.
At that time, Milo, which was much smaller and increased its marketing budget, was not sure how the lemonade would be carried out.
“Can we extend to another category?” The wall work is recalled. “We were not sure.”
It has been found to be popular among loyal Milo consumers who are familiar with this brand and are looking for products made of materials. MILO ‘S has expanded the line by launching strawberry lemonade, raspberry lemonade and lemon sweet tea in May, and plans to launch Zero Sugar Lemonade in the first quarter of 2026.
WallWork said, “We have a hockey stick (growth rate), the hockey stick is real and we know it because we lived.

Construction of trust with workers and consumers
Wallwork is not familiar with Milo ‘s after working in high school. Using Dolly to move a car or add caps and stickers to the gallon kettle.
The executive admits that she does not plan to participate in the family business. After graduating from college and working as a lawyer for several years, she soon became “disillusioned.” Eventually, WallWork quit her job and returned to Milo ‘S in 2004.
WallWork participated in all aspects of the operation of riding a path truck with only 16 employees at the time, saying, “Learning business from the beginning.”
WallWork’s field experience helped Milo to make it a place for others to work. The company has 1,000 employees who can take a free Gallan tea house every day.
Last year, Milo ‘S received 70,000 applicants with about 100 positions, and Wallwork said it was harder to enter than Harvard University.
MILO ‘s has no plan to slow down red growth. The company focuses on expanding its consumer base and expanding its presence in convenience and club stores, Wallwork said.
MILO also plans to strengthen innovation by entering an existing product line and a new refrigerator category.
WallWork said, “Our consumers are looking for better natural drinks, and there are additional categories that we think we can stretch because of our trust.
To accommodate the company’s fast -growing growth, MILO recently opened $ 200 million in manufacturing and distribution facilities in Spartanberg, South Carolina. It is the fourth and third new factory nationwide in five years. The company produces 1,800 cars and lemonades, including gallons, half gallons and smaller 20 ounces.
Growth naturally attracted the attention of drinks and private equity companies that are interested in purchasing Milo. But WallWork said she plans to keep it to your family.
Wallwork said, “People have always contacted, but our families have decided that we want to become a multiple generation family business.” We can solve more things in the world in terms of three to five years or 1/4, and you can see generations instead. “
