4-Ingredient Frozen Cherry Margarita

you’re right. You only need four simple ingredients to make a delicious sweet and tart frozen cherry margarita.

  • Frozen Cherries: I recommend using frozen dark sweet cherries in this recipe for a lovely, sweet flavor.
  • tequila: I always recommend using silver tequila in cocktail recipes. Silver tequila has a lighter, cleaner taste and goes well with fruit.
  • sweetener: To sweeten your margarita, feel free to use agave or simple syrup. No need for triple seconds. See below for simple instructions on how to make syrup!
  • lime juice: You can’t have a margarita without some fresh lime juice to add some tartness!
  • ice: You’ll also need ice cubes to mix your margarita well. Some of my frozen margarita recipes use only frozen fruit, but since the cherries are small, I also recommend mixing them into ice cubes.

How to make simple syrup at home

Yes, you can easily make simple syrup right at home! Simply add equal amounts of granulated sugar and water to a bottle and shake for about 1-2 minutes until the sugar dissolves. For this recipe, 2 tablespoons each is enough for 2 frozen cherry margaritas.

Is there a mocktail version?

Don’t forget to decorate

I like to dust the rim of a cocktail glass with granulated sugar or salt and top it with a fresh cherry for a pretty effect. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Use a lime wedge to moisten the rim of the glass.
  2. Turn the glass upside down and add salt or sugar.
  3. Turn the glass left and right to coat the rim. That’s it!
