
After at least 32 people died, including 14 children in flash floods, a passionate search for survivors is underway in central Texas.
Many people fell asleep when Guadaluppe rose more than 26 feet (8m) within an hour early on Friday.
Kerr County officials say 27 children were missing at the Christian Youth Camp, located along the river. About 850 people were rescued.
The weather forecast suggests that more rain and potentially more floods can be on the horizon of the area.
Among the areas of floods, there were mobile homes, summer camps and camping sites where many people gathered for the July 4th vacation celebration.
At a press conference on Saturday afternoon, Governor Greg Abbott said he expanded his disaster declaration to promote search efforts.
He said that civil servants would be constantly finding “all the victims of this event.”
Officials said they remained as a search and rescue mission, not recovery efforts.
They said that rescuers are trying to find people who might have been swept up and down the Guadal Loupe river.
Most of the structure focused on Christian Summer Camp, a large girl called CAMP MyStic.
27 people are missing, and are located in Guadalupe River basin near Texas Hunt.
Dan Patrick, the head of Texas Dan Patrick, said, “Many of these girls are young girls under the age of 12.”
He also said that more people were more likely to remain throughout the region because more people were visiting on vacation weekends.
Camp Mystic said that if you send an email to about 750 campers, your child is considered to be missing if you are not directly contacted.
Some of the families have publicly mentioned that they are one of those who have already died.
US President Donald Trump said his executive is working closely with local authorities to cope with emergencies.
Kristi NOEM Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said the president was “devastated” due to the loss of life.
NOEM joined the ABBOTT governor at a Saturday afternoon press conference, and the federal government said it would soon deploy a coast guard to help search.
In other places in County, Travis County, officials say that the other two people were killed and 10 people were killed by floods.
The predictors warned that Central Texas could see more floods this weekend.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said this area can see the rain of 2-5 inches (5cm ~ 12cm) on Saturday.
In some areas that can still be rebounded on Friday’s flood on Friday, it was possible to rain up to 10 inches.
