A healthy garlic potato au gratin recipe that’s delicious, filling and filling when served with steak or chicken.

Ogratin potatoes are one of my favorite side dishes because they are loaded with cheese.
They’re a perfect match for steak or chicken, and they’re also very filling as a bread substitute when you’re suddenly running low on your favorite sourdough roll.
Most recipes call for Russet potatoes for this dish, but I prefer Yukon Golds. They taste much better to me.
Bonus: Yukon Gold potatoes have about 16 percent fewer carbs than Russet potatoes and more than twice the vitamin C.
If you are sensitive to nightshade vegetables, you can substitute cassava root. Cassava is very high in anti-nutrients, so be sure to properly prepare the cassava before roasting.
Another prep tip is to always grate your own cheese!
Even if it is certified organic, commercially sold cheese is processed with aluminum!
Cheese is one of the worst foods because it has no labeling and is processed in a very complicated way!
Buying a large block of the highest quality and chopping and dicing it yourself at home is worth every penny.
