Tens of thousands of Israelis have protested in Tel Aviv, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and the repatriation of hostages held by Hamas.
Organizers said this was the largest anti-government protest since the Gaza War. Videos showed scuffles and people being arrested as police – some on horseback – attempted to clear protesters from the city's main highway.
Rallies have become a weekly event and protesters have also called for new elections. Among the protesters were relatives of the hostages. About 120 hostages are still held in Gaza, some of whom have died.
Hamas and its allies attacked southern Israel and seized it on October 7, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians.
Gaza health officials said more than 37,400 people have died as a result of Israel's devastating offensive.
