This month, four major retailers are offering storewide discounts: Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days (the second Prime Day event of the year), Target’s Circle Week (the third and final of its kind), Walmart Deals (the second of its kind), and Best Buy’s 48-hour Flash Sale. The 7-day sale is available to Target Circle members only, but it’s easy enough to sign up for the free loyalty program on Target.com or in the Target app.

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days
For the third year in a row, Amazon is kicking off the gift-buying season with its Prime Big Deal Days event. The event kicks off at 12:01 a.m. PDT. As the name suggests, it’s open to Amazon Prime members only, but anyone can sign up for a 30-day free trial. New deals will be available sitewide and in every department, including Home, Electronics, Fashion & Beauty, Toys, Kitchen, and Amazon Devices, up to every five minutes throughout the 48-hour event.
What will be sold?:
Here are some specific sales you can expect:
- Barbie, Squishmallow, Play-Doh, Disney toys.
- Beauty products from Clinique and Too Faced.
- Florentine fashion presented by Mills, Cider and Aeropostale.
- Home interiors at NEST New York, Lenox, Lodge.

Best Buy 48 Hour Flash Sale
Amazon’s Prime Day event is always competitive, and Best Buy is up there once again. The electronics retailer is holding a 48-hour flash sale that coincides with Amazon’s Big Deal Days. So before you click “buy” on your TV, gaming device, laptop, monitor, or other tech gadget on Amazon, check the price at Best Buy in-store or online. You might find it cheaper there. And you don’t have to be a store loyalty member to get the discount. (Best Buy is having its own members-only sale in September.)
What will be sold?:
There are a few more sales and special events coming up at Best Buy this month. Here are some highlights:
- Apple Trade-Up Event, September 30 – October 13

- Get ready for the holiday event starting October 21st
Best Buy’s holiday shopping deals start the third week of October, giving you early access to savings on appliances, smart home devices, and other home appliances.

Walmart Holiday Deals Event
Not to be outdone by Amazon, Walmart is launching its own event, Walmart Holiday Deals, on October 8. It’s time to shop thousands of sales across the store. You’ll find slashed prices across every department, including holiday items, home goods, fashion, beauty, electronics, and toys.
Popular items tend to sell out quickly during these limited-time sales, so it’s a good idea to jump in early. This is where being a Walmart+ member really pays off, as you’ll get 12 hours of access before everyone else.
Here’s how it works: For Walmart+ members, the event begins online (Walmart.com or the Walmart app) on October 8 at 12 a.m. ET. Everyone else can start the online deal at 12 p.m. ET. If you don’t want to pay shipping, you can pick up your purchases at your local Walmart using the retailer’s free store delivery program. The event begins in stores for all customers the following day (October 9).
