Gisèle Pelicot told BBC Newsnight’s Victoria Derbyshire that her strength comes from her “DNA”.
Ms Pellico was at the center of the largest rape trial in French history. For nearly a decade, she was drugged unconscious by her husband, Dominique Pelicot, and raped by dozens of men he recruited in Internet chat rooms.
Before her trial began, she made the surprising decision to waive her legal right to anonymity and tell the world who she was.
In the interview, she revealed how she “couldn’t imagine” the man she shared his life with “could have done something so horrible” and how she is now rebuilding her life.
