Google Chat now has its own interpretation of Slack’s Huddles.

Google Chat introduces instant audio conferencing, similar to Slack’s Huddles. This allows you to quickly switch to an audio or video call within a chat. However, rather than giving this feature a new name, Google decided to call it “Huddles.”

If you’re using Google Chat, you can quickly start Huddle by clicking the drop-down menu next to the call icon and then selecting the ‘Start Huddle’ option.

Calls will be voice calls by default, but users can turn on video or share their screen, just like Google Meet.

First announced by Google last year as part of the Google Chat refresh, the feature is rolling out today and will be available to all Workspace users in the coming weeks.
