According to New York Times, next week, Google will allow children under 13 years of age with a parent’s Google account to use Gemini Chatbot.
TIMES reports that children who use Family Link, a Google service that allows their families to choose a variety of Google services for their children, can use Gemini. Google spokesman said to the publication that Gemini has a specific guard rail for young users and that the company will not train AI using the data.
As pointed out in Times, the Chatbot manufacturer is racing to capture the young audience with the AI race. It is despite the fact that today’s chatbot is incomplete and harmful in the worst. At the end of last year, the UN education, science and cultural organizations forced the government to regulate the use of the creation AI in education, including the implementation of age restrictions on users and guard rails for data protection and user personal information.
