Mr Mangro is seeking damages for “lost wages” and “mental pain and suffering and severe emotional distress,” according to the 60-page lawsuit seen by the BBC.
Mr. Mangroe, who is originally from the Netherlands and worked in the United States to achieve success as a singer and songwriter, said in the lawsuit that he first met Mr. Gesteelde-Diamant in January 2015.
The 33-year-old claims he “submitted” her to a “violent sexual encounter” that left her bruised, forced her to drink “excessive amounts of alcohol” and strangled her “to the point where she almost lost consciousness”. He forced her to perform sexual acts on her in her movie theater and raped her in her converted sprinter van.
She also said he “said he was going to make her the next Beyoncé and Rihanna.”
Ms. Mangroe alleged in the lawsuit that within days of their first meeting, Ms. Gesteelde-Diamant began forcing her to have sex and that it was “part of the process.”
The 33-year-old locked her in a dark room and told her he would “only stop having aggressive sex with her after she told him she loved him”.
Ms. Mangroe alleged in the lawsuit that the unwanted sexual contact continued, and Ms. Gesteelde-Diamant made promises, including suggesting that she could arrange for her to appear on Beyoncé's next tour and as the opening act at the Grammy Awards.
