Hamas: 22 killed in Israeli airstrike on Gaza school

Also on Saturday, the Health Ministry said Israel “targeted” a Health Ministry warehouse in the Musaba area of southern Gaza, killing four staff members and wounding six. The ministry did not specify whether the incident was an airstrike.

The BBC has approached the IDF for comment on reports of the medics’ deaths.

Other schools have also been hit by Israeli airstrikes since the latest conflict with Hamas began on October 7, some multiple times.

Earlier this month, the United Nations agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) said an Israeli airstrike killed six staff members at the al-Jauni school in the Nuseirat refugee camp, where thousands of Palestinians are sheltering.

Unruwa said this was the fifth time the school had been hit since October 7.

The Israeli military said it carried out a “precision strike” on terrorists planning an attack at a school. The military claimed that nine of the dead were members of Hamas militants, three of whom were Unrwa employees.

Hamas militants attacked Israel on October 7 last year, killing about 1,200 people and taking 251 hostage.

According to the Health Ministry, Israel responded with a military operation in the Gaza Strip that has killed more than 41,000 people.
