On Tuesday, shocking photos from the site surfaced online.
Some footage showed the injured being transported to hospitals in pickup trucks, tuk tuks and even motorcycles.
Other footage showed families screaming outside a local hospital, trying to find loved ones among bodies dumped in the entrance.
Bunty, who uses only one name and hails from the state's Aligarh district, said she was devastated by the loss of her mother.
He saw her body lying outside the hospital on the news on Tuesday evening.
“But when I went there, I couldn't find my mother and since then I have been trying to find her body,” he told BBC Hindi.
Some people expressed anger about this incident.
Ritesh Kumar, whose 28-year-old wife was among the dead, said his life had been turned upside down.
“My family has been destroyed. The government must ensure that we get justice,” he said.
