Former US President Joe Biden, an 82 -year -old US president, said he was diagnosed with prostate cancer according to an office statement on Sunday.
Viden, who left the office in January, was diagnosed on Friday after seeing a doctor last week.
According to the Cancer Research UK, cancer is a more aggressive type of disease characterized by nine of 10 out of 10, which means that his disease can be classified as “advanced” and cancer cells can spread quickly.
Biden and his family are considering treatment options. His office added that cancer is sensitive to hormones.
Biden’s office said in a Sunday statement: “Last week President Joe Biden showed a new discovery of prostate nodules after urinary symptoms increased.
“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by 9 (group 5) with transition to bones.
“This represents more aggressive forms of disease, but cancer seems to allow effective management to be sensitive to hormones.”
After the news of his diagnosis, the former president was supported by both sides of the passage.
President Donald Trump wrote about his social media platform truth, and his first lady Melanie A Trump wrote, “I was sad about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis.”
“We expand the warmest and best wishes for Jill and family.” “We wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
Former Vice President Kamala Harris, who served under Biden, wrote in X that her and her husband Doug EMHOFF prayed for the Biden family.
“Joe is a fighter, and I will face this challenge with the same power, elasticity, and optimism as he has always defined his life and leadership.”
Barack Obama, who served as president from 2009 to 2017, and his deputy director, said in X’s position that he and his wife Michelle said, “I am thinking about the whole family.”
President Obama said, “No one has worked more to find a breakthrough treatment for cancer than the group, and he is convinced that he will fight against his trademark resolution and grace. We are also for quick and complete recovery.” In 2016, President Obama led BIDEN to lead research programs throughout the government.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in the UK: “I am very sorry to hear that President Biden has prostate cancer. JOE, his wife Jill and his family are doing their best, and the president wishes for rapid and successful treatment.”
The news comes almost a year after the former president was forced to concern concern about his health and age in the 2024 US presidential election. He is the oldest person who held an office in American history.
At that time, Democratic candidate Viden, who competed for re -election, faced criticism of his poor achievements in the discussion of Republican candidates and the current president in June. He was replaced by his vice president Kamala Harris as a Democratic candidate.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, prostate cancer is the second most common cancer that affects men behind skin cancer. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that 13 out of 100 men will develop prostate cancer at some point in their lives.
CDC says age is the most common risk factor.
Dr. William Dahut, the chief scientific officer and trained prostate cancer doctor at American Cancer Society, said that cancer is more essentially more aggressive based on the publicly available information on BIDEN’s diagnosis.
Dr. Dahut said, “In general, if cancer spreads to bones, we think it is not considered a treatable cancer.
But he pointed out that most patients tend to respond well to early treatment and “people can live for many years by diagnosis.”
Dr. Dahut said that hormonal therapy will be provided by the former president’s diagnosis to relieve symptoms and slow the growth of cancer cells.
BIDEN retreated from the public’s eyes after leaving the White House and publicly appeared.
In April, the former president gave a keynote speech at the Chicago Conference held by advocates, counselors, and representatives for the disabled for the disabled.
In May, he sat for interviews with the BBC for the first time since he left the White House. He admitted that the decision to step back from Gyeongju in 2024 was “difficult.”
BIDEN has faced questions about health in recent months.
BIDEN has denied claims that he had a decline in the last year at the White House, appearing in the view program that occurred in May. “There is nothing to keep it,” he said.
For many years, the president has advocated cancer research.
In 2022, Mrs. Biden resumed the “Cancer Moonshot” initiative to mobilize research efforts to prevent more than 4 million cancer deaths by 2047.
BIDEN lost his eldest son, Beau, in 2015.
