Growing up in the South, summer days meant swimming in the pool, late nights, and eating frozen snacks. Although I can’t buy frozen fudge at my local store, these homemade fudge pops are the perfect healthy solution.
I have many popsicle recipes and they are a huge hit around my house. Fudgecle is a frozen chocolate fudge flavor that is extra creamy and rich. I like it slightly sweet, but you can adjust the sweetness depending on the raw honey and type of chocolate used.
homemade fudge
Real food just tastes better. Like many kids, I was a fan of fuzzy pop growing up. But once I switched to whole foods, I realized junk food didn’t taste as good.
Not only does home-made fudge taste better, it’s simple to put together and it’s healthier. You can also make several batches at once and freeze them for later. My kids love this! And I’ll keep these treats hidden in the freezer to grab when the neighborhood kids come over to play (I always do!).
fudge pop ingredients
A lot of the recipes I saw used things like pre-packaged instant pudding mix. If you read the ingredient list on the back of the box, you’ll see why I might want to skip it. Instead, these fudge candies use real chocolate, including chocolate chips and cocoa powder.
I also used raw whole milk and full-fat canned coconut milk for a rich, creamy flavor. For a creamier taste, use coconut cream instead of coconut milk. Whole milk is higher in healthy fats for a creamy mouthfeel. However, if you need a dairy-free version, you can use your favorite dairy-free milk.
sweet, sweet chocolate
Chocolate offers some pretty impressive health benefits when you don’t drown it in sugar. Both semisweet and bitter chocolate work well in this recipe. Choose a chocolate you’d like to eat on its own, because that’s where the flavor really shines. I really prefer dark chocolate, but you might like something a little sweeter.
If you want a sweeter version, add a little more honey until you reach your desired sweetness. If you want to add honey, 1 to 2 tablespoons is fine.

Homemade Fudge Recipe
Combine coconut milk, milk, cocoa powder, and sea salt in a small saucepan. Whisk until the cocoa is fully incorporated and no lumps remain.
Heat over medium-low heat until the mixture is steaming and just beginning to bubble around the edges. No need to boil.
Remove pan from heat and stir in chopped chocolate. Continue whisking until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and smooth.
Taste and add honey, if desired, and stir until dissolved.
Fill the popsicle molds. Let the mixture cool slightly and then pour it into the popsicle molds. This will help it thicken slightly and prevent it from separating.
Place the sticks and freeze until completely solid, about 6 hours or overnight.

To loosen the fudge, briefly run warm water over the outside of the mold. Gently pull on the stick and serve immediately.
Expiration date and storage
Since it is a frozen food, you will naturally want to store it in the freezer. Stored in an airtight container, it will stay fresh for several weeks. You can also make several batches at once and freeze them for later use.
