A video shared by Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps showed the moment an elderly woman was rescued by a robot while trying to leave a devastated village.
The Ukrainian military spotted the woman using a drone and sent the machine to rescue her.
A drone video released on Saturday showed a robot approaching a woman with the words “Grandma, please sit down.”
Antonina Horuza told BBC correspondent Jessica Parker: “I didn’t think I would make it and I had no strength.”
Ground drones have played a key role in rescuing or supplying soldiers on the front lines in Ukraine.
