1. Find discounts while shopping in stores
Macy's sale prices are constantly updated. To find the lowest price on the scoop neck sleeveless tank top you find, use the phone app to check prices. Here's how:
- Open the app on your phone.
- Find and click on the scanner in the top right corner of the app home screen.
- Place your phone on the tag.
The app will not only tell you all the sizes and colors in stock, but also let you know if the shirt is cheaper. It will also let you know if there are other discounts available. Did the app show a lower price? The store associate will charge you that price!
The app is also your one-stop shop for all the sales and deals that are happening at Macy's. Scroll down on the home screen and look for the section that says “Offers.” Click on “Current Deals and Promotions” to see all the deals for specific brands and app-only sales.
2. Make the most of Macy's Star Rewards
If you haven't already, join Macy's Star Rewards program, a free loyalty club. Earn points for every dollar you spend, and those points roll into Star Money (essentially store credit). Earn $10 when you earn 1,000 pointsand other special events and freebies.
The downside to Macy's Star Rewards program is that once your accumulated points are converted to Star Money, they must be used within 30 days. This app can help you avoid losing that free money. It shows you how many points you have accumulated, whether you have Star Rewards in your account, and when your Star Rewards expire.
The app will also notify you of opportunities to earn extra points on product detail pages, and you’ll receive a push notification when Macy’s has one of its Star Money Bonus Days (special times when you can earn even more bonus points than usual).

3. Track future purchase prices
Want to pay full price for something that's on sale? If you have time to wait to buy expensive perfume or jeans, add them to your favorites list in the app. We'll email you when Macy's has a sale.
Here's how:
- Search for what you want in the app.
- To add to your favorites list, click the heart icon in the upper right corner.
- Visit your favorites list at any time by clicking the heart icon at the bottom of the app home screen.
- To turn on email notifications for price drops, go to your Favorites list, click on an item, and tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen. You can then click “Send Price Drop Notification Emails.”
4. Get the lowest price even after purchasing
It happens to any of us. You buy a cute pair of shoes on Monday, and then on Thursday, you find out they’re $20 cheaper. You’re upset! But did you know that Macy’s will refund you the difference if you find a price drop within 10 days?
Here’s where the Macy’s app really comes in handy. After you purchase something, check the Purchases & Returns menu in the app for 10 days. It will tell you if the price has gone down. If so, you can call Macy’s or visit macys.com to get the price adjusted.
5. Charge items to your Macy's account
If you have a Macy's credit card, the store wants to make it as easy as possible for customers to use the card. No need to dig through your wallet to hand the physical card to a salesperson! 6. Receive sale notifications
Don’t miss a deal with the app. You can turn on a variety of notifications for app-only sales and other special events in the settings menu. It also provides information on the status of your orders. Here’s how to set it up:
- Click the account icon in the bottom right corner of the app home screen.
- Click on Communication Preferences.
- Scroll through the notification options to choose from “Push Notifications”, “Email”, “Text”, “Order Notifications”, “Security Notifications” and “Promotional Notifications”.
Is the Macy's app right for you?
The Macy's app is a great digital tool for Macy's fans. If you're a Macy's credit card holder, a Star Rewards Program member, or a regular shopper at Macy's, you'll want to download the app.
In fact, it’s not for everyone. If you’re the kind of person who occasionally stops by Macy’s on your way to the mall parking lot, the app probably won’t be of much use to you.
