Now you can look like you’re on a Zoom call from the office while sipping a margarita while lounging in a hammock far away. Pickle, a months-old startup, has a simple proposition. You submit a five-minute instructional video to create your avatar, and 24 hours later you’re ostensibly ready to get started. Want to make a phone call from your car? It will be your secret. Are you too lazy to get out of bed? are you okay. At the beach club? Perhaps you are pushing for it. Even judging by the demo video, that’s not the only problem that needs to be addressed. (The service is currently available in Basic, Standard, and Pro versions priced between $300 and $1,150 per year.)

The technology, which is backed by LA venture firm Krew Capital, currently only works on MacOS, Pickle says. However, the Windows version is said to be released next month. Meeting apps customers can choose from include Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams, according to Pickle. But you’ll have to wait to use it. According to the site, “Due to current high demand, clone creation is being delayed.”
