Hundreds of Beirut mourn journalist killed in Israeli airstrike

BBC Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega reported on Saturday, March 28, the funeral of three journalists killed in a targeted Israeli attack in southern Lebanon.

Ali Shoeib, a reporter for the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Manar TV station, was reportedly killed in the village of Jezzine along with Fatima Ftouni, a reporter for the Al Mayadeen channel, and her brother, cameraman Mohamed Ftouni.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the killing of Shoib, describing him as a “terrorist,” but provided no evidence to support claims that he played a military role in the organization. The Israeli military has not commented on the killings of Fatima and Mohammed Pthoni.
