5 Better Frozen Foods to Store on the Counter After Cooking

These better products Walmart has found make your frozen snacks incredibly luxurious!

Frozen appetizers have seriously stepped up from the days of basic mozzarella sticks and pizza rolls. I’ve been seeing Walmart’s new bettergoods line appear more and more in the freezer aisle and the options really stand out. The trendier flavors and “hosting night” vibe really made me want to give it a try.

What surprised me the most was the price. All of the better-selling items I tried were under $6, and there was a mix of fun, slightly higher-priced options like crunchy arancini, flaky croissant knots, mini quiches, and sweet and savory figs in a blanket.

These frozen bites are clearly designed for quick snacks and easy appetizers. You can even transform yourself into a cheap hosting hack!

What is Bettergoods Walmart?

The Bettergoods brand launched as Walmart’s modern, trend-focused private label line with a focus on premium grocery items, stylish packaging and affordable prices. The collection includes everything from frozen meals and pantry staples to beverages and household items. Today we’ll focus on five frozen appetizers for our taste test.

We definitely liked one more than the other, so I’ll share my thoughts on whether it’s worth buying.

price: $5.97

explanation: This is a variation on pigs in a blanket, combining sweet fig flavors with savory ingredients wrapped in pastry for a more gourmet-inspired frozen snack. Designed with enjoyment in mind, it offers a sweet and salty flavor profile.

My thoughts: So, to be honest, this was a bummer for us. I didn’t enjoy the crust. It was plain, tasteless, and didn’t even taste like cheese. It also didn’t look attractive. I won’t be buying this again.

price: $5.97

explanation: You can enjoy a bakery-style brunch with bite-sized mini quiches. Featuring a thin pastry shell filled with a rich, creamy egg custard and a combination of savory flavors, it makes an easy appetizer, breakfast addition, or easy entertainment option. There are two flavors: avocado & black bean and sweet potato bacon.

My thoughts: These had a surprisingly high flavor and the crust was delicious. I cooked it in an air fryer and it was really flavorful and delicious. The top turned slightly brown and was delicious. I would purchase this again. If you’re hosting a brunch, buy a few and use them as a great hosting hack!

price: $5.97

explanation: Blending the flavors of Italian-inspired arancini and classic Southern pimento cheese, this crunchy snack has a crunchy exterior coated in creamy cheese-filled risotto.

My thoughts: The pimento flavor is strong. It’s smoky but not spicy. I love the exterior crumb texture. These are good, but maybe not my first choice. Most likely I will never purchase again.

4. bettergoods Traditionally Crafted Cacio E Pepe Arancini 7.5oz

price: $5.97

explanation: Inspired by the classic Italian pasta dish, these crunchy risotto balls combine creamy rice, coarse black pepper, and cheesy cacio e pepe flavors in a crunchy golden coating.

My thoughts: I loved the parmesan cheese and rice flavor. Personally, I liked it better than green pepper. Next time, I’ll try making it with an air fryer to make the outside even crispier. Yes, I would purchase this again!

Taste Rating: 8/10

price: $4.97

explanation: These buttery croissant knots combine layers of crunchy pastry with a savory garlic filling and basil pesto flavor to create a bakery-inspired frozen side or appetizer.

My thoughts: This was the best product out of all of them! These were so delicious, fluffy, and flaky. The pesto taste is strong. It would be the perfect addition to spaghetti night. I am definitely purchasing this again.
