Preliminary findings about the availability of illicit alcohol in one Australian state have been described as “concerning”.
Researchers visited four licensed liquor stores in Melbourne, Victoria, during June, July and September 2025. They purchased three suspected illicit vodka products and one control product and submitted all four for testing. The bottles were photographed and packaging characteristics, labeling and traceability recorded.
