Interpol asks for public help in new missing women case

Details of each were published on the Interpol website, along with possible identification items and facial reconstruction photos.

Most of the victims are believed to be between 15 and 30 years old.

The body of the teenage girl, wearing red shoes, a beaded necklace and a 10p piece, was found under leaves in 1982 on a plain near a village called Le Cellier. It had been there for several months.

Detective Frank Danerol, near the area where she was found, now overgrown with brambles, nettles and horse chestnut trees, said the teenager’s body had been “disposed of like garbage”.

“Before she died, I had absolutely no respect or interest in her,” he adds.

The 10p coin led investigators to believe she was British or had been traveling in the UK before she was murdered.

Police decided not to elaborate on the nature of her killing to avoid a “false assailant” claiming responsibility.

Unfortunately, the teen’s remains can no longer be found, complicating the mission of cold case investigators.

“If we find them, it may be possible to study her DNA and link her to her family,” says Det Dannerolle.
