Intrepid Travel has acquired Wild Bush Luxury and luxury lodges in Australia. Acquired Arkaba Walk and Homestead in South Australia and Bamurra Plains in the Northern Territory.
Wild Bush Luxury runs guided walking tours.
This acquisition is part of Intrepid’s strategy to expand premium nature-based experiences in Australia. Wild Bush Luxury’s tours and lodges will join Intrepid’s portfolio in February.
“Travelers are increasingly looking for meaningful ways to connect with the land, wildlife and culture, and by expanding our portfolio with iconic guided walks and premium lodges, we’re giving them immersive experiences in some of this country’s most extraordinary landscapes,” said Brett Mitchell, Intrepid’s managing director for Australia and New Zealand.
Adventure tour operator Experience Co. sold Wild Bush to Intrepid. CEO John O’Sullivan said after reviewing the company’s portfolio it had decided to focus on its marine, Treetops Adventure and skydiving/aviation businesses.

Among the new itineraries, Intrepid will run the Acatenango Volcano Hike and Antigua Short Break, a four-day hike up Guatemala’s volcanoes and learning about sustainable agriculture from a women-led farming project.
As part of its new premium walking and trekking collection, Intrepid will offer a nine-day walking and hiking itinerary in Vietnam. Travelers will begin and end their hike through tea plantations and rice terraces in Hanoi. The $3,095 trip includes staying at Garrya Mu Cang Chai Eco Lodge and dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
