Intrepid is expanding its operations into the Middle East by opening a destination management office (DMO) in Jordan.
The new hub is in Amman, where a local team will oversee the company's small group tours starting this summer.
Intrepid said opening a DMO in Jordan underlines its confidence in the country during the crisis. The Israel-Hamas war has had a far-reaching impact on tourism in Jordan and Egypt.
Intrepid's bookings for Jordan are down 74% from a year ago.
“Despite the current crisis, Jordan has a lot to offer travelers from around the world and we consider it a key destination for our business.” said Zina Bencheikh, EMEA Regional Managing Director at Intrepid.
Bencheikh added that this office will allow Intrepid to take its product to the next level by introducing new timelines and purpose-driven initiatives over the next year.
