Iran executes dissident Jamshid Shama on terrorism charges

“The entire process, including his arrest, conviction and execution, is a serious violation of international law,” said Mahmoud Amiri-Moghaddam, director of the Norway-based Iran Human Rights Group.

Shamahd is believed to have been kidnapped by Iranian agents in Dubai in 2020 and forcibly transported to Iran via Oman.

In August 2020, Iran’s intelligence service announced its arrest in a “complex operation” without providing further details.

Another human rights group, Amnesty International, claimed that Shamad told his family that he had been coerced into confessing and that he had been tortured while in custody.
