Irish survey reveals gaps in listeria knowledge

Posted Date:

A survey conducted in Northern Ireland found that although there were gaps in knowledge regarding some parts of the European listeria regulations, compliance with control measures was good.

Ready-to-eat (RTE) food manufacturers were surveyed about their level of awareness of the European Regulation 2073/2005. The regulation requires companies to take action in their production environments and take samples of these areas and associated food products to ensure that they are free of Listeria monocytogenes. The survey had 26 questions.
