Yes, the Y-3 adidas collab will cost around $100-$800. It may come as a shock to those searching for cheap Adidas sportswear, but Yohji’s brand line can cost up to 10 times as much.
To appreciate the Y-3, you have to look at its unique identity.
The close-ups in this adidas Y-3 review show that the Y-3 is made of beautiful, high-quality fabric. If you look closely, you can feel the delicate details of the texture, and these pants have a really beautiful flowing feel every time you move.
Intricate details are what you would expect from a high-end luxury brand.
From the layered pocket hem to the flowing lines, this piece’s construction clearly reflects the talented designer’s thoughtful artistic sensibility. Looking at the internal assembly and manufacturing process of the part, it looks good, with uniform lines and well-finished edges.
If you fall between two sizes, I would choose the oversized version in the smaller size to get a similar fit to what you see online. I exchanged the small size (pictured in this photo) for a very small size to fit better around the hips and raise the waistline.
I wish these oversized Y-3 pants had a more flattering fit when viewed squarely for the price point, but that will depend a lot on your body type. Looking at some of the footage used to capture this photo, the piece moves well and overall I still like the look of it. I think oversized clothing that is intentionally designed to not fit the body is always problematic.
This look is more of a fashion (or anti-fashion) statement that you either like or don’t like.

It’s not my intention to highlight the coolest features. Rather, it is a rebellious look that feels more like intense energy and understated strength rather than following fashion rules.
Of course, I had some credit to burn after signing a new contract with adidas. Still, striking a four-to-one balance isn’t easy when Adidas offers so much fashionable and functional activewear and athleisure clothing that I absolutely love.
Needless to say, I kept my pants. And I will keep an eye on the collection for future purchases.
What can I say, the lines are great. That’s really cool. I would wear anything from that line.
The assortment is highly functional with a neutral color palette of black and white, while some essentials are enhanced with Y-3’s signature details and silhouettes.
