A senior official at the Italian Cricket Federation has been suspended after being investigated over allegations of sexual assault.
Italian Cricket Federation (FCRI) Sky Sports News The governing body’s president reportedly ordered the unnamed individual suspended in 2025 and launched an investigation into the allegations.
The man was suspected of inappropriately touching a player of the Italian women’s national team.
The allegations were reported to the police last year.
FCRI said in a statement: Sky Sports News: “The Italian Cricket Federation reiterates that it acts in accordance with the principles of fairness, transparency and protection of registered members, as well as the ethical and civic standards that underpin the sporting system.
“The Federation therefore defers to the competent judicial authorities for any decisions arising from this matter.”

Italy recently made their debut in the Men’s T20 World Cup with a 10-wicket win over Nepal and also tested England before losing by 24 runs to Harry Brook.
The Azzurri also lost to West Indies and Scotland, with exits in the first round.
