Japan Airlines (JAL) now offers free domestic connecting flights to travelers arriving from North America.
The policy goes into effect this week for travelers from the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Thailand, and will be rolled out to other Asia-Pacific countries later this month.

To qualify, passengers must book domestic flights as part of the same reservation as the international flight. Separate domestic flight reservations are not free.
Passengers from the United States, Canada and Mexico can take domestic flights for free as long as their connection to their first Japanese destination is within 24 hours. Otherwise, a $100 connection fee will be charged.
