JetBlue is doubling its Fort Lauderdale-Santo Domingo flights this summer.

JetBlue is doubling its service between Fort Lauderdale and Santo Domingo, adding a second daily flight starting July 9.

The increase will result in total services provided. 2 flights daily between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Las Americas International Airport Santo Domingo expands capacity on one of the airline’s top routes in the Dominican Republic.

Route changes

The additional frequency gives JetBlue a wider range of service throughout the day and more departure options in both directions. The Fort Lauderdale-Santo Domingo route remains one of the airline’s most consistently operated routes in the Caribbean, thanks to high demand year-round.

Twice-daily service gives travelers more flexibility for shorter stays and easier connections through Fort Lauderdale, which continues to serve as a key gateway to JetBlue’s regional network.

Santo Domingo’s growing offense and defense

This expansion comes as airlift volumes in Santo Domingo continue to increase. Dominican Republic tourism authorities have been actively positioning the capital as a destination in its own right, focusing on its historical core, cultural institutions and the city’s hotel offerings.

The push has led to more flights from major U.S. gateways, particularly Florida and throughout the Northeast. The airline has been steadily adding capacity at Las Americas International Airport, reflecting the growing demand for city-based travel along with the domestic resort market.

JetBlue’s move to double its frequency on this route is part of a broader trend of adding more seats to a market that has been gaining traction over the past few years.

Positioning in South Florida

Fort Lauderdale remains one of JetBlue’s most important Caribbean hubs, providing frequent service to destinations throughout the region. The increase in flights to Santo Domingo strengthens the network, especially on short-haul international routes where frequency plays an important role in traveler choice.

The expansion, just ahead of the peak summer travel season, coincides with one of the busiest times for travel between South Florida and the Dominican Republic.

The addition of flights will give travelers more options to reach Santo Domingo every day and provide more flexibility on one of the region’s most active routes.
